4 Major Heart Attack Red Flags You NEED to Know!

Contrary to popular belief, heart attacks don’t manifest by Hollywood classic signs such as dramatically clinging to the chest. In fact, most heart attacks occur silently with no noticeable symptoms. According to Dr. C. Crandall, there is a way to minimize the risk of a heart attack by recognizing the signs our body sends before it.

Here are four major heart attack red flags you need to recognize on time:

Anxiety

Many heart attacks patients said that they experienced anxiety attacks before they had their heart attack. Although it could prove to be a simple anxiety attack, it’s better to be safe than sorry, right?

Swelling

Many people don’t concern themselves with swelling in the hands and feet, but this may be an indication of an impending heart attack. Heart failure can cause accumulation of fluids in the body, which can result in swollen feet, ankles and abdomen. Don’t disregard this symptom and see a doctor immediately after noticing it.

Coughing

Coughing up bloody phlegm or constant whizzing from the lungs may be a sign of a heart attack. This occurs due to fluid buildup in the lungs, and is a symptom you should check at a doctor.

Pain in other body parts

Many heart attack patients have experienced pain that starts in the chest and spreads to the jar, back, shoulders and abdomen. Sometimes, the pain isn’t in the chest, it’s in the other body parts and is an indication of a heart attack. Heart attack usually causes pain between the shoulders blades, and can come and go over time. Whenever you notice it, visit a doctor immediately.

Besides these signs, an impending heart attack may also cause chest discomfort, shortness of breath, nausea, lightheadedness and nausea. Don’t ignore these symptoms until they disappear – doing so can have fatal consequences on your health.
