Cayenne Calms Muscle Pain in This Way
Capsaicin is an active ingredient of cayenne and it promotes the release of “substance P” in the human body. This substance is released from the inflammatory cells and the nerve cells of the immune system. This substance helps the body in the process of perceiving pain and it promotes the release of a number of cytokines so at to induce a healthy inflammatory response.
Moreover, cayenne dilates the blood vessels and that makes it possible for more anti-inflammatory cells to reach the affected area. Once substance P gets released and depleted, and in certain cases, like this one, when cayenne is repeatedly applied, there is pain desensitization, or in other words, the threshold of pain in the area increases.
The pain in the area is reduced and this makes it possible for you to take some steps that will help your body heal. You could try stretching, walking, physical therapy or exercise and with cayenne’s help, you will soon eliminate the pain.
